I'd like to start using dynamic albums. I had created some dynamic albums long ago using tags to "flag" certain images for the dynamic album. These albums now show up as empty so I think that the coding for dynamic albums has changed.
Can someone please supply a simple example of the settings I'd make to create a dynamic album based on having certain images having a specific tag assigned? I'd like to be able to pull these images from all of the "sibling" albums to the dynamic album. ie: pull images from all the other albums at the same album sub-level as the dynamic album that I am creating. My attempts to create a dynamic album are always empty. What goes in the "Search criteria:" field, what goes in the "within" field immediately below it? And which of the check boxes need to be selected. My assumption as a starting point is that certain images have already been tagged with a specific value.
Also having set up a dynamic album (working or not... right now none of mine are working properly), why can I not go back and adjust some of the settings? If I were able to tweak the settings, then eventually I'd discover the correct set of values but as it is, my only recourse with a "dud" dynamic album is to delete it and try to create a new one with different selector settings.
I DO understand (I think) that a dynamic album is not really an actual album but is instead a pre-defined set of search criteria which are then used to create a set of images.
I've looked at the demo admin on the netphotographics site and there is no example of a dynamic album there and besides that, there's no way to see what the settings were that would have created it.

But for the short answer, the simplest means for making a dynamic album is to do a search then on the search page click "Create album" in the admin toolbox. You can use "tags" on the images as your search criteria. Then so long as those images still have the tags assigned they will show up in the album. The search criteria is whatever gives you the results you want.
You can "adjust" the settings after creating a dynamic album but you have to do so by editing the album file itself. That is the ".alb" file.
