I have been a longtime user of Zenphoto prior to the fork and after the latest name change. Before that I used Yappa-NG. I like how I can just export from Lightroom to a folder on my server via SMB shares to get the album created and really don't have to follow that up with anything else unless I need to protect an album or want a custom sort order or something. I currently have 899 albums containing over 105,000 images. I recently updated https://www.timbrown.us/ubuntu-18-04-co ... o-virtual/ the hardware for the Ubuntu 18.04 Linux server and ported over the old hardware's LAMP server drive into a Virtual Disk which now runs as a LAMP VDI under VirtualBox on the new hardware.
As far as photography goes, after shooting in high school I wanted to go to college for the profession, but my parents did not support that effort. So, I kept it as a hobby and ended up with a degree in Criminal Justice. I worked in that profession for six years before being drafted as the IT guy. Since then I finished a government career and retired, but continue to work full-time in information security in the private sector. I shoot mostly charity events like walks, runs, cycling and church events. But lately small weddings and portraits have kept me busy on a part-time basis. If I could shoot what I wanted with no worries of time and paying other bills, it would be more macro and landscapes. My newest gear is a Canon Pixma PRO-100 printer(rebate until 12/31/18) that I am enjoying so far. I also picked up a new color analyzer from X-Rite to replace my old Pantone Huey. I still have some learning to do to fully understand and implement the color profiles where needed to ensure correct color from image capture to print.
